Gas fireplace ignition repair.
Igniter clicks but no flame. IPI module failure, spark gap issues, or gas valve problems — we diagnose the system, not just the symptom.
Diagnosis first
The ignition chain explained
Modern gas fireplaces use either an Intermittent Pilot Ignition (IPI) system or a standing pilot. When something in that chain fails, the fireplace won't light — but the failure point can be anywhere from the switch or receiver to the igniter, the gas valve, or the wiring between components.
That's why symptom matters. Clicking without flame points to a gas delivery or pilot issue. No clicking at all points to the IPI module, wiring, or receiver. We trace the full chain systematically — and that means we fix it right the first time.
Clicks but Won't Light
Spark is generating but no flame appears. Likely causes: blocked pilot orifice, failed thermocouple keeping gas valve closed, gas pressure issue, or pilot flame not reaching the thermocouple tip.
No Spark at All
No clicking when you activate the fireplace. Likely causes: dead IPI module, failed remote receiver, wiring fault, discharged battery pack, or a failed igniter electrode.
